How SafetyCulture saw a 33% increase in revenue in the six months following their BigCommerce site re-design

SafetyCulture’s mission is to help companies achieve safer and higher quality workplaces all around the world through innovative, low-cost mobile first products.


After witnessing the tragedy of workplace incidents as a private investigator, SafetyCulture’s founder Luke Anear went on to recruit a team to help him develop a mobile solution for safety in the workplace. SafetyCulture was originally founded in 2004 from Luke’s garage. As it started gaining momentum and was adopted by a wider range of customers, SafetyCulture graduated into an office space in Townsville, Australia. The team has since expanded across the globe with additional offices in Sydney, Kansas City and Manchester.


Their flagship product, SafetyCulture iAuditor, simplifies the auditing process by making it easy for anyone to effectively manage safety and quality from a mobile device. Frontline workers are empowered to report issues quickly to prevent an incident due to inefficiency and limited visibility. Word of mouth about SafetyCulture iAuditor and the growing industry movement toward safer, data-driven workplaces have added momentum to their growth.

Challenges and Goals

SafetyCulture approached Convert Digital with a BigCommerce site that was built on an outdated framework. Hard-coded in sections, the site was near impossible to update internally and adding new features was complicated and time consuming.


Tasked with redeveloping on the updated Stencil framework, we paid close attention to the mobile user experience (UX). We incorporated new features like smart search, an improved tutorials resource hub boasting video content, and the ability to create branded documents for each customer, conveniently attached to the order confirmation for instant use.


The resulting web experience was a fully redesigned site, with greatly improved, customer-focused user experience, with all the extra features they wanted and built so Safety Culture could make updates easily.

We had a full website redesign, Blueprint to Stencil. Convert surpassed our expectations, always going that extra mile to accommodate our wishes. We are already onto our new project which will be also done by Convert Digital.
